I’ve really been enjoying these single topic, focused podcasts we’ve been doing the last 3 weeks, and I think I’m going to keep that format rolling, as opposed to a summary of the news, which you can get daily at the Financial Aid News, along with daily scholarship listings. Instead, I’d like the Financial Aid Podcast to evolve into more “evergreen” topics that will be useful no matter when you hear them.

On Tuesday I had the opportunity to speak to students at Bentley University about the economy and jobs, as many of the students in the class will be graduating this coming year and entering the job market.

Digital Foundations for Career Success

1. Buy a personal domain name.

2. Start a blog.

3. Set up a LinkedIn profile.

4. Think about attending conferences in your field. Many have student rates or are free to enrolled students.

5. Be cognizant of what your digital history shows.

6. Start managing your finances online.
