Students should be encouraged to apply to ALL sources of financial aid for which they are eligible. Other scholarships may be available once students are enrolled in a college, students should contact their college financial aid counselor or check with the American Indian Graduate Center (www.aigcs.org).

The North Carolina Society of Engineers, founded in 1918, is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization which helps to promote the social, economic and technical interests of the engineering profession throughout the state of North Carolina. The Harrell Scholarship will provide support to assist with tuition, fees, and books for a full time student who has a declared major in Engineering or Engineering Technology. The recipient may reapply for consideration but eligibility shall be limited to four (4) semesters.

The Directed Energy Professional Society (DEPS) is the premier organization for the exchange of information on the development and application of directed energy (DE), which includes both high energy lasers (HEL) and high power microwaves (HPM). DEPS fosters research and development of DE technology for national defense and civil applications through professional communication and education. The traditional academic disciplines involved in DE research include, but are not limited to, physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials sciences, optical sciences, optical engineering, and aerospace engineering. 2010-2011 award amounts will depend on available funding which is provided by the High Energy Laser Joint Technology Office and by DEPS.

The Texas Architectural Foundation (TAF) recently announced over $58,000 in scholarships available for the 2010-2011 academic year. Scholarships are available to students seeking professional degrees in architecture at any of the eight accredited schools in Texas. Of the 2010-2011 scholarships available, 11 are competitive among students from all schools. Another 31 are designated for students from specific schools. Scholarship amounts to individuals range from $750 to $5,000.
