According to US PIRG, the public interest research group, 79% of all Americans have at least one error on their credit report, and 25% of all Americans have at least one serious error on their credit report that could get them denied for student lending, apartment rental, even phone service. These errors can also cause you to get things like private student loans at interest rates that are higher than you might have otherwise gotten!
