Consumer-Protection Agency Seeks Oversight of Nonbank Student-Loan Servicers

“The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau proposed a rule on Thursday that would allow the federal agency to supervise large nonbank student-loan servicers to ensure their compliance with federal consumer financial laws,” The Chronicle of Higher Education reports.

This is a super article. I think ultimately, oversight at the newer, smaller loan servicers will bring their levels of customer service up to the level of the bigger servicers.
