Duncan: Federal College Ratings System A Go With Or Without Congressional Funding

In his budget request for Fiscal Year (FY) 2015, President Obama asked for $10 million to support the creation of the proposed federal college ratings system – an idea with both supporters and detractors in the higher education community. But the Department of Education (ED) plans to pursue the project with or without Congressional funding, Secretary Arne Duncan told the Senate Appropriations Committee Wednesday during a hearing on the budget.
