ED Event Discusses Utilizing Technology To Increase College Accessibility
How can we use government data to support higher education in this country? Innovators from the private, nonprofit, and academic sectors joined together yesterday at the Department of Education’s (ED) second annual Education Datapalooza event in an attempt to answer that question. “We all know that by opening up data to as many people as possible, by democratizing it, amazing things can happen,” said U.S. General Services Administration Administrator Daniel Tangherlini. As part of President Obama’s college value and affordability plan, the administration is encouraging innovators to use public information, or “open data” as a resource for new higher education focused tools.
