Legislative and policy issues related to the federal budget and its impact on student aid dominated the conversation on a free Federal Update webinar held yesterday for NASFAA members. NASFAA President Justin Draeger and Policy staff explained that three triggers for large-scale change to the student aid programs loom on the immediate horizon: the “fiscal cliff,” the FY 2013 and FY 2014 budgets, and the July 2013 expiration of the Subsidized Stafford interest subsidy.
