Mar. 31, 2014 –  Negotiators wrapped up last week’s negotiated rulemaking session with discussion on the definition of adverse credit under the PLUS Loan Program, as well as revisiting some topics from earlier in the week. The Department of Education (ED) is particularly interested in whether the currently used definition of adverse credit history in the PLUS Loan Program should be updated, as it was first published in 1994. Negotiators also discussed proposed changes to regulations governing repeated coursework. The next session will take place April 23-25, where negotiators will consider second drafts of proposed regulatory language of all issues except for PLUS, which will be at the first draft stage.
