PodCamp Philadelphia was an incredible conference!

9 September 2007 1 views 9 Comments

So much to say, so few words to say it with. PodCamp Philadelphia was held September 7 – 9, 2007 at Drexel University and was a wonderful, educational, powerful experience for everyone involved. I’m so pleased to have been there and been able to contribute, both representing the Student Loan Network / Financial Aid Podcast as a sponsor, as well as celebrating the PodCamp movement itself.

I can’t thank enough the organizing team of PodCamp Philly for creating a wonderful PodCamp experience for everyone involved, and for letting us into your community. A few takeaways:

+ There were a LOT of new people. That made me very happy. I love making new friends.

+ There were a lot of HIGH ENERGY people. Conferences usually slow to a dull crawl by the last day, but PodCamp Philly was stronger than ever on Day 3 with fun things like Amish ChrisBrogan and Drew Olanoff’s Wedding Crashing.

+ There were a lot of KNOWLEDGEABLE people. I learned a ton this weekend, and iMovie ‘08, which I’d previously cursed, has been demonstrated to me to be VERY effective at what it’s intended for – rapid, simple production of video clips.

Rather than go on and on with words, I present these three videos of PodCamp Philly for your enjoyment:

Day 1 – September 7, 2007

Day 3 – September 9, 2007

Thanks again to all the organizers for a wonderful PodCamp and the celebration of the 1 year anniversary of the PodCamp movement!

Thanks to everyone for coming- Podcamp is about the People- and I am so glad it came together. We’re reaching outside of the echo chamber, and with each step, we get closer to our goals.
It’s been an amazing experience, simply put.

It was an amazing weekend! I am so glad that I had time to attend as many events as I could! (But you can’t time-shift life yet.) I wish I had time to get to the post-lunch events, but I had to get to Amish country! It was great to connect with new, exciting, and creative people and to meet those I listen to, view, and read and talk to on the the net. This Podcamp Philly will really be of help to Jaan’s World. It will be very interesting to watch how podcasting affects the world of TV in the next few years with all the new technology that we have access to. (And Pat’s makes the better steak.)

Awesome music, through up some credits. Fun videos, fun to see friends who did attend so that I can check out their sites and blogs this week for their thoughts. Congratulations on a great event.

Being a newbie, I enjoyed it. I just wish I could have attended both days. I found it amazing that the sessions that I did attend to be very relevant to me. It could have been the Philly vibe that made it great, too.

BTW: Enjoyed meeting you. Definitely one of the highlights of Podcamp.
