President Highlights Accountability, Innovation In College Affordability Plan
President Obama yesterday released a plan to make college more affordable, citing increased tuition, declining state support, and sub-par student completion rates as pressing issues. The administration’s plan includes a three-part agenda to combat college costs and debt and introduce greater measures of accountability for institutions and students. “NASFAA appreciates President Obama’s commitment to college affordability and continued support of federal student aid. As we examine issues of college access, we agree with the administration that persistence and completion are vital goals,” said NASFAA President Justin Draeger in a statement.
