Prior-Prior Year Data Among College Board Recommendations For Pell Grant Program Improvements

Citing NASFAA’s work on prior-prior year (PPY) tax data implications, the College Board recommends using the data to determine eligibility for the Pell Grant Program and other federal financial aid in a new report. “Based on five years of data from more than 70,000 student records, NASFAA  concluded that the U.S. Department of Education (ED) should use the authority granted under the Higher Education Opportunity Act to fully implement a PPY system to simplify the process,” states “Redesigning the Pell Grant Program to Boost Access and Completion.”
