Research: FAFSA Drug Provision has Deprived Needy Students of Federal Aid

Research from the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) tracks how the 2001 amendment to the Higher Education Act (HEA) of 1998 has affected students with drug convictions. Students who had to wait up to two years to receive aid were less likely to ever pursue a college degree, the group found.
