How to Improve Your Credit Score
|
|
If you have less than perfect credit, sooner or later you'll need to fix it in order to qualify for things like apartments, student or personal loans, and even mobile phone service. Some employers even require a credit check for certain jobs!
The good news is that there isn't much a professional can do to improve your credit score that you can't do for yourself. The bad news is that it's not easy and will take discipline and restraint on your part to fix what you've messed up.

16 Back To School Financial Tips
|
As you head back to school, as classes start up, here are some tips to help you get the most out of every dollar during the school year:
-
Avoid credit reps on campus. You don't need that free t-shirt, and a lot of inquires can hurt your FICO score.
-
Make a budget before the semester begins - and stick to it. Figure out what kind of money you'll earn and what you'll be spending.
-
Go for a lot of walks on campus. You'll meet a ton of new people, and you won't have to spend money to do it. Being visible is the easiest way to meet new people.
